An unidentified nude person was discovered floating in the Dighalipukri pond, which is located in the middle of the city. It came as a shock to the residents of Guwahati’s Dighalipukri area in the early hours of the morning on Monday.
It is assumed that the man was murdered and his body was dumped in the pond.
The police believe the man was attacked with a sharp weapon. The body has been sent for a post-mortem examination. One part of the face of the body is missing.
Dighalipukri has the Handique Girls College and a few Cotton University departments on one side, the prestigious Rabindra Bhavan, the District Library, and the State Museum on the other, the Gauhati High Court on the other, and a residential and Cotton University’s girls hostels and professors colony on the other.
