In an instance of cybercrime, Dispur College’s bank account was reportedly hacked on Thursday
Hackers allegedly stole over Rs 75 lakh from the college, according to the authorities. The event occurred on May 2, according to police, and an investigation is underway.
The college authorities have filed an FIR with the Dispur Police Station.
According to reports, no one has yet been arrested in connection with the case.
The funds were transferred to a Kolkata-based group, preliminary investigations revealed.
According to police sources, the crime was committed using the registered mobile number of the college’s bank account as well as cloned bank documents.
Some bank officials were also suspected of being involved in the crime.
