From the current academic session forward, Cotton University in Guwahati will offer a postgraduate diploma course in the Nepali language.
Prof Bhabesh Goswami, Vice-Chancellor of Cotton University, officially inaugurated the programme on Monday, at the university’s MCB Building Conference Hall.
If Gorkha students show great interest to get a PG degree in their native tongue, Prof Goswami believes a full-fledged PG course could be created in the future.
The postgraduate diploma course will begin classes on Thursday. Prof. Goswami further stated that 12 students have already signed up for the course.
Notably, Cotton University, following Sikkim, becomes the first university in the Northeast to offer a Nepali diploma programme.
