Hollywood star Leonardo DiCaprio has received an invitation to visit Assam from Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, just a day after praising the state government for its efforts to stop rhino poaching in Kaziranga National Park.
DiCaprio stated in an Instagram post that no rhinos were poached in Kaziranga National Park last year, proving that the Assam government’s efforts had been successful.
The Chief Minister sharing a screenshot of DiCaprio’s post on Twitter wrote: “Preserving wildlife is integral to our cultural identity. We are dedicated to persevering and safeguarding our rich cultural heritage. Thank you for your kind words, @LeoDiCaprio, and I extend a warm invitation to you to visit Kaziranga and Assam.”
