Assam chief minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday asked the BJP leaders and officers bearers to give up the VIP culture of possessing Personal Security Officer (PSO) addressing it as Congress party’s culture.
“I will ask the BJP state unit BJP president to impress upon the BJP leaders to give up PSOs for there is no need of it. This is the congress party’s culture. We do not have any threat of life for we have done nothing wrong,” said the chief minister.
“We do not need PSO to open the doors of the cars, we have the strength to open our doors. I was at the Congress party. I can give you a list of such practices which Congress party patronage,” he added.
In response to the proposal of Chief Minister Sarma, BJP President of Karimganj, Subrata Bhattacharjee is the first BJP leader to give up his PSO.
