There are timings specified for bursting crackers during Christmas and New Year’s eve in Assam.
The Pollution Control Board (PCB) had specified the timings for the bursting of crackers during Christmas and New Year in Assam, earlier on October 22, before Diwali.
The Pollution Control Board in a notification released on 22nd October, this year, stated that during Christmas and New year’s eve bursting firecrackers will be allowed from 11:55 PM to 12:30 AM only. The notification also stated that only green crackers can be sold in Assam.
