The water level of the Brahmaputra in Guwahati is progressively approaching the danger mark, according to a bulletin issued by the Central Water Commission (CWC) on Saturday.

The Brahmaputra’s water level at Guwahati is 49.5 meters as of today. It’s only a few centimetres away from the danger mark of 49.68 meters.

The water level in the Brahmaputra was 48.68 meters at the time of the final observation on Friday, indicating that it rose by nearly a meter over the course of the night.

Reportedly, the water level of the Brahmaputra in Guwahati is rising by about 1 cm every hour.

Guwahati, meantime, has received 8.8 mm of rain in the last 24 hours.
