Assam Book Fair organised by Assam Publication Board sold books worth one crore in just four days. The book fair is organised for 12 days, which will end on January 9, 2022.
A total of 115 books were also released during the book fair.
Assam Education Minister, Ranoj Pegu inaugurated the 12-day long book fair on December 29, 2021.
The book fair is based on the theme “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.”
The book fair was attended by a large number of book lovers from across Guwahati, since its inauguration.
It is noteworthy that the book fair was cancelled due to the violent protests against Citizenship Amendment Act, in 2019. Also, due to a novel coronavirus pandemic, the book fair was not organised in 2020.
