Raveena Tandon, a veteran Bollywood actress, is set to receive the prestigious Dr Bhupen Hazarika Award at the upcoming Beltola Bohagi Utsav Ujjapan Samiti event. The announcement was made by Narayan Deka, the president of the Ujjapan Samiti, at a press meeting. The event is scheduled to take place from April 20 to April 22, with Raveena Tandon being honoured on the final day.

The Dr Bhupen Hazarika Award has been presented to accomplished individuals in the fields of literature and culture since 2012. Along with a sum of Rs. 200000, Raveena Tandon will also receive a citation, an Angabastra, and a memoir.

In addition to the award ceremony, the event will also feature a Patmadoi Competition carrying a cash prize of Rs. 200000 and a citation. The best Bihu performing group will be awarded Rs. 100001, while the second-best group will receive Rs. 51001. The best Dholiya and Pepuwa (bugle) will be awarded Rs. 25001 each.

On April 21, a souvenir book will be released by the President of Axam Xahitya Xabha, Dr Suryakanta Hazarika. The book launch will be accompanied by musical performances by Deeplina Deka and Shankuraj Konwar. Cultivators, a popular music band, will perform on the Bihu stage on April 20. Zubeen Garg and Zublee will be the closing day’s musical guests.

Furthermore, the Bihu committee has pledged financial aid of Rs. 200000 to Dipak Sarma, a renowned flutist from Assam.
