Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma made a number of announcements during his Republic Day speech and asserted that Bohag Bihu will be celebrated on a global scale.
The Chief Minister announced that on April 14 in Guwahati, between 10,000 and 15,000 people will sing Bihu, setting a record that will be entered into the Guinness Book of World Records.
Additionally, CM Sarma mentioned that this Bohag Bihu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi would be in Guwahati.
The Assam government wants to promote Bohag Bihu internationally after commemorating Bir Lachit Barpukan’s 400th birth anniversary on a global scale.
