Assam government declared on Friday that birth and death certificates will be digitalized for the benefit of the people of the State.

The state’s birth and death certificates will henceforth be issued entirely digitally, according to a decision made at a meeting of the health and family welfare department presided over by chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.

The government also stated that it chose to prioritise blood donation, organ donation, and routine immunisation.

“Birth & death registration to be made completely digital. Certificates to be issued to parents & next of kin in case of birth & death respectively,” the chief minister stated in a tweet on Thursday.
