Assam’s ambitious Amrit Brikshya project achieved a remarkable feat as 4-lakh saplings were meticulously planted in the shape of the Assam Map in Margherita, Tinisukia. This living map beautifully showcases the state’s natural wonders, including its rivers, mountains, and valleys, using strategically placed potted saplings.

The unique blend of art and environmental awareness symbolizes Assam’s rich natural heritage and unwavering commitment to eco-preservation. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma shared the mesmerizing visuals on social media, hailing it as the “biggest ever map of Assam made with potted saplings.”

Chief Minister Sarma expressed his determination to break records, citing Pakistan’s one lakh tree planting effort and announcing plans to plant ten lakh trees in the Bhairavkund area of Udalguri district. In addition, a staggering 22-kilometer-long line of seedlings was designed in Khanapara, involving over 3.20 lakh saplings. On September 11, a world record was set with seven lakh people receiving digital training on pressing environmental issues.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi commended Assam’s dedication to environmental priorities in a letter to Chief Minister Sarma, recognizing the state’s remarkable achievements.
