Mirza Arif Hazarika

The Astittwa-famed writer-director, Mirza Arif Hazarika had an exclusive interview with Just Guwahati Things, where he answered a few questions:

Q. Would you give our readers a brief synopsis of the short film—“Sorry”?

Hazarika: Sorry is a blend of art & reality. A story that most of us someway or the other have experienced. It is a journey that our audience would do as the film proceeds. It is about love, aspirations, expectations & concerns that we have in any relationship and so on.

Q. After “Astittwa” you made this film in Hindi, what was your thought process behind it?

Hazarika: Well I am a content creator. Honestly when I think about any of my creations language doesn’t matter much. However, Making Sorry in Hindi was a collective thought and a decision that my producer, writer & I have taken. The story was written in Hindi with an aim to tell another story along with the main story of the film. And that story is all about letting everyone outside Assam know that talent & capabilities our very own actors, technicians & musicians have and what they can actually achieve if they join hands together as a team with the content creators. We have just begun this story and hoping many more would be written in times to come.

Q. How was your experience working with stars like Barsha Rani Bishaya, and Ravi Sarma?

Hazarika: Well… Barsha Rani Bishaya & Ravi Sharma are indeed experienced actors of our industry and I have immense respect for them and they value it too. So, we all worked as a abled team of artists in this film. When camera was on I was their director and they were my actors, characters rather and behind camera also we all were involved in discussing how to better the next scene or dialogue. So, this is how was my experience with them and I think they enjoyed working with me as much as I did.
