In the midst of widespread protests against the Shahrukh Khan-starring movie Pathaan, Bajrang Dal activists were seen setting the movie’s posters on fire in Guwahati’s Narengi.

The Bajrang Dal activists invaded the Gold Cinema at LG Tower in Narengi on Friday evening to demonstrate against the movie that is set to come out next week, however the protests there were not as severe as they were in other areas of the nation.

The film’s poster was tore down by the activists, who later set it ablaze. Social media is being used to spread videos of them.

In addition to destroying the posters, the protesters can be heard shouting “Jai Shree Ram!”

Some of them even made their way into the movie theatre and removed further posters.

Despite the area being densely inhabited and having an appropriate police presence, some locals claimed that no police officers were there when the alleged vandalism occurred.

The Siddharth Anand-directed film Pathaan, starring Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, and John Abraham, will be released on January 25, 2023.
