Guardian Ministers were appointed by the Assam government for each district in the state in a notification on Thursday.
The guardian minister of the Kamrup Metro district and North Lakhimpur has been named as Atul Bora, State Minister of Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, and Veterinary.
Chandra Mohan Patowary, the Minister for Environment and Forests served as the Kamrup Metro’s guardian minister in 2021.
The list of Guardian Ministers and the districts to which they have been assigned is as follows:
1. Atul Bora – Kamrup (M), and North Lakhimpur
2. Ranjeet Kumar Dass – Bongaigaon, Dibrugarh, and Tinsukia
3. Pijush Hazarika – Sonitpur, Biswanath, and Karimganj
4. Keshab Mahanta – Morigaon, Golaghat, and South Salmara Mankachar
5. Parimal Suklabaidya – Nagaon and Hojai
6. Ajanta Neog – Jorhat and Nalbari
7. Ranoj Pegu – Sivasagar, Majuli, and Barpeta
8. Ashok Singhal – Kokrajhar and Goalpara
9. Jayanta Mallabaruah – Cachar, Dhubri, and Hailakandi
10. Chandra Mohan Patowary – Kamrup, and Darrang
11. Jogen Mohan – Karbi Anglong, West Karbi Anglong, and Dima Hasao
12. Bimal Bora – Charaideo and Udalguri
13. Nandita Gorlosa – Baksa and Bajali
