The 68th National Film Awards winners were revealed on Friday at the National Media Center in New Delhi.

Assam’s two feature films: Sekmkhor and Bridge managed to win awards in the feature film category.

‘Semkhor,’ directed by Aimee Baruah, won the ‘Best Dimasa Film’ and debutant director Kripal Kalita’s movie ‘Bridge’ won the ‘Best Assamese Film’ award in the feature film category.

Furthermore, ‘Manah Aru Manuh’ (Manas and People), won the award for Best Environment Film. The Directorate of the Manas National Park and Aaranyak produced the movie under the direction of Dip Bhuyan.

Meanwhile, the Best Short Fiction Film award went to Khanjan Kishore Nath’s Karbi film “Kachichinithu” (The Boy with a Gun).

Announcing the winners on Twitter, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, wrote, “My heartiest congratulations to the winners of #68thNationalFilmAwards.”

305 feature films in 30 different languages were submitted this year, while 148 films in 28 different languages were submitted for the non-feature film category.
