Nine cooking enthusiasts hailing from various northeastern states of India have successfully advanced to the next stage of MasterChef India’s upcoming season, set to take place in Kolkata. The second round of this culinary competition is scheduled for August 13 and 14, according to a fellow participant who has secured a spot in this round.

As confirmed by reliable sources, the nine contestants who have earned their positions are: Abhishek Prasad from Golaghat, Lucy P Patir from Arunachal Pradesh, Monmi Shikha Puzari from Jorhat, Nilakshi Rupam Sarma, Farha Naaz, Kabyashree Deka, Dr Mousumi Krishnatrey from Guwahati, Pooja Taki from Arunachal Pradesh, and Avantika Haflongbar from Haflong in Assam.

However, it has been disclosed by insiders that additional participants from the same region are anticipated to join the Kolkata round. Up until now, no official confirmation has been provided regarding this matter.

In a prior occurrence from March 2023, Nayanjyoti Saikia, a self-taught cook hailing from Tinsukia, Assam, was proclaimed the victor of MasterChef 7 India. The 26-year-old was awarded ₹25 Lakh as the winning prize, while Assam’s Santa Sarmah secured the position of the first runner-up.
