An extremely staggering incident took place in the district of Karimganj on July 14. A woman was allegedly killed by her in-laws for giving birth to a female child.
The incident went down in the Bhairabnagar area under the Karimganj district.
Reportedly, the woman who has been identified as ‘Sumna Begum’ allegedly died after being forced to consume acid by her own spouse and in-laws, resulting in her death.
According to the sources, the woman was muscularly put through the situation of doing this crime by her in-laws for failing to give birth to a son.
Furthermore, the accused husband who has been identified as ‘Shakeel Ahmed’ was taken into police custody.
Although the victim was taken immediately to a nearby hospital, she departed her life during the treatment.
