Finswimming, unlike swimming, is distinguished by the use of fins and snorkels. It consists of four techniques that involve swimming with fins, either on the surface with a snorkel and monofins or bifins, or underwater with monofins while holding one’s breath or using open circuit scuba diving equipment.
