A letter from the director of the Axom Sarbha Siksha Abhiyan Mission to the relevant officers dated September 14 stipulates that the Assam State Anthem must be performed at all functions and events hosted in government schools.
The department states that in addition to the morning assembly, the Assam State Anthem, “O Mur Apunar Desh,” must be performed at all special events, meetings, and other gatherings at the school.
The Director asks the Mission Coordinators of all districts, the District Elementary Education Officers of all districts, and the School Inspector to give the Heads of the Institutions the appropriate instructions in this regard.
Assam Education Minister Dr. Ranoj Pegu has given his approval to this decision.
