The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has revealed the final results of the highly anticipated UPSC Civil Services examination 2022. The announcement took place on Tuesday, May 23. Notably, a commendable achievement was seen from the state of Assam, with six candidates making their mark in the prestigious examination.

The successful candidates from Assam are as follows:

  1. Mayur Hazarika, hailing from Tezpur, secured an impressive All India Rank (AIR) of 5.
  2. Md. Idul Ahmed from Guwahati obtained an AIR of 298.
  3. Soilemthang Vaiphei from Jonai achieved an AIR of 619.
  4. Diksha Langthasa from Dima Hasao earned an AIR of 664.
  5. Nivedita Das from Bajali received an AIR of 848.
  6. Manasjyoti Das from Namrup attained an AIR of 881.

The highest-ranked candidate among the male aspirants in the UPSC CSE exam 2022 is Mayur Hazarika from Assam, securing the impressive 5th rank nationwide.

Mayur Hazarika, a native of Tezpur, Assam, has consistently exhibited excellence throughout his academic journey. He distinguished himself as a top performer in the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) and Higher Secondary (HS) examinations. Hazarika, a dedicated doctor by profession, has been actively involved with NHM Assam. He successfully completed his MBBS degree from the esteemed Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH). His higher secondary education was accomplished at Ramanujan Junior College in Nagaon district.

Expressing his surprise and satisfaction, Mayur Hazarika stated, “I did not anticipate such a remarkable rank. I am content with the result now. My first preference is Indian Foreign Services,” during an interview with news agency ANI.

The UPSC Civil Services preliminary examination was held on June 5, 2022, with the results being announced on June 22. Subsequently, the main examination took place from September 16 to 25, and the results were declared on December 6. The interview phase concluded on May 18.
