The Assam Cabinet made many significant decisions on Wednesday, including those relating to the distribution of scooters to deserving students, the raising of assistant professors’ pay scales, the construction of a new hotel in Kaziranga, and rules for the issuance of caste certificates.

In order to motivate students and guarantee improved results, scooters will be provided for 29,748 girl students who received a 1st division and 6,052 boy students who received a 75% or higher in the HS Examination, at a total cost of Rs 258.9 crore overall.

Sharing the information on Twitter, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, wrote, “In today’s #AssamCabinet, several key decisions were taken regarding distribution of scooters to meritorious students, increase in salary of Assistant Professors, a new hotel in Kaziranga and guidelines on issuance of caste certificates.”

Meanwhile, in an effort to increase tourism, Saraf Hotel Enterprises will build a hotel in Kaziranga, the cabinet decided.
