Due to the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) examination results, which was announced on Tuesday, two candidates committed suicide.

The two candidates who died by suicide were 15-year-old Rahul Bora and Sobin Chutia.

Rahul Bora, a 15-year-old Mangaldoi resident, committed suicide on Monday, the day before the results were announced.

Near his body, a suicide note was also discovered. The young boy, wrote, “Maa and Deuta (mother and father) I will not be able to give what you want. Therefore, I seek apology from you both. I wish you both to stay good.”

The 15-year-old who committed suicide yesterday received letter grades in Sanskrit and received a second division in the HSLC examination, the results of which were announced today, although he was no longer alive to hear his result.

Rahul Bora, the son of Tarini and Anna Bora, hanged himself in the kitchen of his home at about 2 p.m. in the absence of his parents.

In Merapani, on the other hand, another suicide instance was recorded, in which a student committed suicide after failing the HSLC exam.

Sobin Chutia, the student, was a resident of Jitour village in Charaimari. He was a Charaimari High School student.
