From now on, the Assam cabinet has determined that no ministers or government officials will be felicitated with Gamosa or other gifts in any official programmes.
The cabinet has also agreed to hold a tree-planting event instead of felicitation of ministers while they are visiting different areas.
“It’s been decided that no ministers including the chief minister as well as senior officials will be felicitated or offered any gifts as a part of felicitation during any official events as we are the host,” Assam cabinet and education minister Ranoj Pegu said.
“However, if there is any union minister or dignitaries from other sectors from both outside or local present in the function, they will be felicitated,” the minister added.
