Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu has provided advice on which stream HSLC students should enroll in for higher education.
The Education Minister recommended that HSLC students enroll in either the Science or Commerce stream because doing so will make it easier for them to find employment.
He said, “I urge the HSLC passed students to study Science or Commerce as it helps to get a job easily.”
Pegu made this statement at a press conference in Guwahati.
He added that he was pleased with the results of the Higher Secondary examination that were released today. “The result this year is the best in a decade. This year the pass percentage is highest and this is only due to the screening conducted in Class X,” he continued.
In addition, Pegu said that although there are significantly fewer students in the Commerce and Science streams, the majority of them achieved first or second division in HSLC.
Pegu added that the state has 1.12 lakh seats available in the Science stream.
