Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu launched “Karbi Lamtasam,” an online Karbi-Assamese-English Dictionary. The dictionary, compiled by abilac.org and IGNCA Delhi, helps understand Karbi words in Assamese or English.
Dr. Kellen Parker van Dam, a linguist from the University of Zürich and La Trobe University, contributed to its development. The dictionary promotes linguistic diversity and cultural exchange in the region.
“Glad to launch Karbi Lamtasam, an online Karbi-Assamese-English Dictionary that will help to know the meaning of Karbi words in Assamese or English or vice versa. Kudos to abilac.org and & @ignca_delhi for compiling this dictionary,” tweeted Education Minister Pegu.
“My gratitude to Dr Kellen Parker van Dam, a Sino-Tibetan linguist at the University of Zürich & La Trobe University, for contributing to the development of the Karbi online dictionary. Sharing his message,” he added.
