The Assam Kaziranga University

Assam brought home a total of 28 medals at the most recent 36th National Games, which were held in Gujarat.

9 gold, 10 silver, and 9 bronze medals were won out of the 28 medals. As a result, Assam is now ranked 14th overall in terms of medals.

Assam was represented by a contingent of approximately 270 people at the National Games in Gujarat.

From September 20 to October 12, numerous Gujarati cities, including Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Surat, Vadodara, Rajkot, and Bhavnagar, hosted the National Games.

At the 36th National Games, the following Assamese athletes brought home gold medals:

i) Amlan Borgohain won gold in the 200-meter Men’s athletic event
ii) Amlan Borgohain won gold in the100-metre Men’s athletic event
iii) Mridul Bora and Ruptu Gogoi won gold in Men’s pair Lawn Bowls
iv) Ananda Kumar Narzary, Putul Sonowal, and Mridul Borgohain won gold in Men’s triple Lawn Bowls
v) Assam won gold in the Women’s pair Lawn Bowls
vi) Astha Choudhury won the Women’s 100-metre swimming butterfly event
vii) Shivangi Sarma won gold in the 100-meter freestyle swimming event
viii) Lovlina Borgohain won gold in the 75kg Middle Weight category in Boxing
ix) Ankushita Bora won gold in the Women’s 66kg Welterweight category in Boxing

In 36 different sports events, around 7,000 competitors from 28 Indian States, 8 Union Territories, and Services, and the Indian Armed Forces sports team were vying for medals.
