Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s security has been upgraded by the Central Government from the ‘Z’ category CRPF security cover in the North-Eastern area to the ‘Z+’ category CRPF security cover across the country.
An order from the Ministry of Home Affairs dated October 13 was issued in this regard.
The order read, “The security arrangement for Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma has been reviewed in this Ministry in consultation with the Central Security Agency and it has been decided to upgrade his present ‘Z’ category.”
“CRPF security cover in North-Eastern region to ‘Z+’ category CRPF security cover on all India basis. CRPF is requested to provide ‘Z+’ category security cover to Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, on all India basis, under intimation to this Ministry,” added the order.
