Assam boy Gautam Deka took first place in the astrophotography competition held by the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) in honour of International Moon Day.
Gautam, who hails from Mangaldai, began his photographic career in 2012. He started astrophotography in 2013, and now it helped him take first place.
The ISRO’s competition had the theme “Moonshots,” and photographers were urged to use their smartphones to take pictures of the moon and post them to the ISRO website. The image contributed by Gautam was taken on Guru Purnima from the Sereng Sapori area in Mangaldai.
