Assam-born actor and director Kenny Basumatary has been roped in to play a role in Atlee Kumar’s upcoming film Jawan. The film already stars Shah Rukh Khan, Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, and Deepika Padukone.
Basumatary confirmed the news in an interview with IndiaTodayNE. He said that he will be playing the role of a retired commando who is a member of King Khan’s father’s elite four-person commando team.
Basumatary expressed his excitement about the opportunity and said that Shah Rukh Khan is one of the most sincere and down-to-earth people he has met. He recalled how Shah Rukh Khan apologized for being late to their first meeting, which left him astonished.
This is not the first time that an Assamese actor has collaborated with Shah Rukh Khan. Earlier this year, Diganta Hazarika played a pivotal role in Khan’s film Pathaan.
