A number of actors from Assam have garnered praise for the state with their acting abilities.

Boloram Das is one of the most recent additions to the list. Das, hailing from Guwahati, Assam, has received widespread acclaim for his role in the recently released Bollywood film ‘A Thursday.’

‘A Thursday’ is a hostage thriller film about a play school teacher who kidnaps 16 small students and makes a series of demands that shakes not only the Mumbai police and city, but also the country and its politicians.

Das, who plays the role of a student’s driver, has received praise for his portrayal of the character.

It should be noted that Das began his acting career in 2013 with the English-language film The Black Russian, directed by Carlos Valle and Paul Sidhu. The next year, he starred in his first Bollywood film, ‘Badlapur Boys.’ He has since appeared in a number of Bollywood films, including ‘Gabbar Is Back,’ ‘High Jack,’ and ‘Karwaan.’ Recently, he received praise for his negative role in the Sony Liv Original Film ‘Welcome Home.’

Das continued to work in Assamese and English-language films in addition to Hindi films. ‘Antareen,’ his first Assamese venture, was released in 2017. Apart from his career on the big screen, Das also appeared in a number of short films in Hindi and Assamese. He is a well-known face on Indian television, as he appears frequently on TVC.

‘A Thursday,’ which premiered on Disney+ Hotstar on February 17 features a star cast that includes Yami Gautam in the lead role, as well as Atul Kulkarni, Neha Dhupia, Karanvir Sharma, and others.

Since its premiere, the film has received mostly positive reviews from the general public and the film industry.
