The leader of the Aam Aadmi Party and the current Delhi Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal, is expected to visit Guwahati on May 29.

The Delhi Chief Minister will visit Assam with the goal of strengthening the party’s base in the state.

AAP Assam State Coordinator Dr. Bhaben Choudhury told media that the state unit of the party has proposed a date for party president Arvind Kejriwal to visit Guwahati on May 29.

He said, “We have proposed the date to the Chief Minister of Delhi but the confirmation is yet to be received based on the weather. Kejriwal will participate in a roadshow at Guwahati for which a good weather is necessary and if everything goes well he will join us in the roadshow on May 29.”

The party has established a presence in the state by winning one ward in the Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) elections. In 24 wards, the party came in second place.

The party has established a strong presence not only in Guwahati but also in other districts, with significant numbers of individuals joining on a regular basis.
