There won’t be an increase in electricity rates before March 2023, the Assam Electricity Regulatory Commission announced on January 3. The commission will reportedly make a conclusion after hearing people’s perspectives.
On the website of the Electricity Regulatory Commission, the general public, parties, and organisations have until January 22 to submit their grievances.
In early March, the commission is most likely to hear the case and reach a conclusion.
Notably, the Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL) had suggested raising energy prices in the state by Re 1 per unit. APDCL made the choice to guarantee dependable supply and to provide customers with improved services.
