As part of the 400th-anniversary celebrations of Bir Lachit Borphukan’s birth, the Assam government has approved the construction of the ‘Alaboi Ron Smriti Khetra’ in Kamrup to commemorate the supreme sacrifice of 10,000 Ahom soldiers in the Battle of Alaboi.
The government will also build a memorial and cultural complex in Jorhat to commemorate the Ahom General’s life and military achievements.
