Assam’s Bodo community is aiming to set a new Guinness World Record by showcasing their traditional dance, Bagarumba, with over 20,000 artists.
This comes after the state set a record for the largest Bihu dance performance with over 11,000 artists. According to All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) advisor Kusum Swargiary, the government aims to bring the Bagarumba dance to a global audience and break a new world record.
The community is enthusiastic about the opportunity to showcase their cultural heritage on a global platform.
