Adil Hussain, a renowned actor from Assam, has been honored with the Best Actor Award at the UK Asian Film Festival. He received this accolade for his role in the world premiere of the film “Footprints On Water,” which also marks the directorial debut of Nathalia Syam. The film stars Nimisha Sajayan, Lena, Danny Sura, and Adil Hussain in leading roles. In addition to the Best Actor Award, “Footprints On Water” also won the award for Best Debut Film during the festival.

The announcement of the film’s success was made on Twitter by the NYIFF (New York Indian Film Festival), stating that “Footprints On Water” had won the prestigious title of Best Debut Film, acclaimed by the Film Critics Circle of India. The film captivated audiences with its profound storytelling and mesmerizing performances, leaving a lasting impression.

Adil Hussain’s presence in “Footprints On Water” made it one of the highlights of the festival. The UK Asian Film Festival, previously known as the London Asian Film Festival, is organized by Tongues on Fire Ltd, a non-profit corporation. The festival took place from May 4 to May 14.

Some of Adil Hussain’s acclaimed films include “Dr Bezbaruah 2,” “Life Of Pi,” “English Vinglish,” and “Abyakto.” Another filmmaker from Assam, Shiladitya Bora, won the Best Film Award for his directorial debut “Bhagwan Bharose” at the UK Asian Film Festival. The closing film of the festival was “Bhagwan Bharose,” a Hindi language coming-of-age drama based on a story by Sudhakar Neelmani, which was screened at the Kiln Theatre in North West London on May 13.

Expressing his gratitude on Twitter, Shiladitya Bora mentioned that “Bhagwan Bharose” is his first feature film as a director, and winning the award has been a special moment for him.
