Twenty-three vultures were discovered dead in the Rani area of the Kamrup East Division.
On Friday, April 15, the forest department, with the assistance of locals, cremated 21 vultures and a dog at the Nalapara Forest Block Office.
Two of the dead vultures have been held at the Vulture Conservation Breeding Centre in Rani for forensic testing to determine the cause of death.
On Thursday, April 14, 23 vultures were discovered dead, with another 12 in serious condition. Currently, the twelve vultures are undergoing treatment.
