The Assam Kaziranga University

On a list compiled by Stanford University in the US, twenty-one researchers and faculty members from the Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati (IIT-G) were listed among the top 2% of scientists in the world.

The IIT-G director, Professor TG Sitharam, and 20 other academics were ranked for their research output and citations utilising all Scopus author profiles. According to the institution, other criteria that contributed to their inclusion on the list included their lifelong contributions to particular fields of research.

The list of IIT-G members includes individuals from departments of physics, chemical engineering, civil engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical and electronics, chemistry, and biosciences and bioengineering.

“This recognition of several faculty in the world’s top 2 per cent of scientists list has placed IIT-Guwahati in the global map of science and has brought great pride to the Institute. I congratulate all the 21 scientists and their hard work and commitment to furthering science,” said Professor Sitharam.
