A woman is accused of pushing her 15-year-old maid from the third floor on Monday, from their house in the Beltola area.
The victim, who is from Tangla, suffered significant injuries to her neck, chest, back, and arms, according to police sources. In a critical state, she was admitted to a city hospital.
The police have detained the accused employer, Banashree Sarkar, and her sister for interrogation.
Sarkar is accused of abusing the maid for wanting to return to her home. The maid is reportedly said to have been paid only Rs 1,000 so far, even though she has been working for the Sarkars since January.
