Each year Scientists below 45 for their contribution across various fields are chosen for the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Award for Science and Technology.
CSIR has announced on Sunday that Scientist Dr. Binay Kumar Saikia received a Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Award for his research on Geo-atmosphere.
Dr. Binay Kumar Saikia is a CSIR-NEIST scientist, from Jorhat, Assam and his core research interests are Carbon Nanomaterials and their Application, Environmental Nano-mineralogy, Aerosol Chemistry, and Low-grade Coal Beneficiation.
It is noteworthy that after 20 years, the honour has been received by an Assamese scientist today.
